Until Peace is an ongoing, collaborative painting project by Fadi Elchamaa and Amer Chamaa, a father and son working side by side. Measuring 2 by 7.5 meters, the work is monumental in scale and intentionally unfinished. It will remain incomplete until true, lasting peace is achieved in the Middle East. Not a pause in fighting, not a fragile ceasefire, but peace built on dignity, justice, and the shared hope for a good future for all people in the region.
At its core, this project is both personal and political. It is a dialogue between generations, between memory and possibility. As the painting grows, layer by layer, it carries questions: What does it mean to wait for peace? What histories are inherited between parent and child? Can art hold space for the unimaginable reconciliation, healing, and perhaps even forgiveness?
